Any experience of 'myhermes' delivery?

I have had recent deliveries from both Yodel and Hermes and and no issues whatsoever. Then again, I guess I must have competent drivers and also have little issues with parcels being left in places.... Some people are fussy bar stewards and take the huff if a driver leaves a parcel in a porch or shed or something instead of delivering directly it into their (normally) ungrateful mitts.

Had very mixed results with them, generally just being slow rather than bad service tho. I use DPD whever I can at the moment 9 times out of 10 they've given a great service and I'm yet to experience something truly dreadful from them.

Mine arrived today safe, however I was a tad late to the door as I needed to get some cloths on and the delivery guy said he was just about to throw it over the back gate. Which is a good 7/8ft high.

my biggest gripe is they always turn up around 8pm around here I despise any etailers that don't offer a better paid choice.

they obviously collect the parcels much earlier than 8pm as well I guess they collect them on the way to or from work , go home have there evening meal etc and then when they can be bothered to they get around to deliveries.

I guess it's convenient for some people though who would prefer a late delivery

Urgh, whenever I buy something on eBay or a forum and I see a Hermes tracking code I groan, they are just a nightmare! Bought something for a mate on a forum, a set of speakers, seller used myhermes, my mate complained that the items hasn't turned up despite Hermes saying it had, he knocked round a few neighbours' houses to discover they have it to a neighbour without saying anything. Just as well the neighbour was honest.

I also had a box just left on the doorstep which anyone could have pinched!

I've not experienced Myhermes, but I've had that with Yodel. No card, no nothing. Had to knock on a few doors and luckily they were honest like with your neighbours. The other thing that Yodel does is update the tracking page to say that they couldn't find your address, despite the building having its own post code, with a sign that says DELIVERIES and has more CCTVs than 1984. Then magically it turns up a day or 2 later lol.

One thing they do though is lie when you ask where a parcel is and that is something I really don't like.

Yeah this, or the other one they do is when they simply don't reply to your tracking queries. Again pointing the finger at Yodel. And Music Magpie!

Had them deliver to me once, took them about 3 weeks to deliver at least and when it did arrive, kindly asked the driver if he knew as to why it was so late, the response was "It probably fell of and was under a desk for a while" or something similar to that anyway.

You get what you pay for and they are almost always the cheapest; shock horror as they aren't quite UPS...

i work for them and have used them.

couriers have a couple of days to deliver your parcel, i think 3 days. if you are in an area where they only have 1 or two deliveries they may carry it over to the next day for when they have more in that area. they are self employed so manage their own stuff.

i used the myhermes a couple of times and all have been delivered within 3 days including pickup day.

just package your item well and it will be fine and fully trackable. some people send stuff back in stupid packaging and wonder why it gets broken, ive seen tvs with just a bin bag over them, 50+ cds for music magpie send back in a bin bag, full computer towers with just the label stuck on the case.

i got a printer off the bay and of all things was only wrapped in bubble wrap. sufficed to say, it doesnt work!

i like them as i dont need to be in to sign
i specifically dont request delivery by ups etc as i have to take a day off to get said parcel.. not fun

Never had an issue with them as a receiver, but broadly speaking they can't compete on service level with the major players.

Used twice, terrible

One business Ebay seller was using them for a first time on a trial run when I ordered something and it took over a week for my item to arrive.

He said apologised and said would never use them again

Used once when sending some speakers to a chap on here. They damaged one of them and it took about 3 months to eventually get the compensation paid. Would never use again.

Had a few deliveries via them in the past and no issues. Our local lady has a orange van with big flowers on it which is different.

Between me and the missus we've used them quite a lot for cheap items that don't need a good level of insurance (where we then use special delivery).

Not had a single issue so far. Cheaper than basic rm signed for.

Use them quite a lot and find them good for the price. Our local driver is great; always turns up between 11 and 1 and parcels so far haven't been damaged. Would use before Yodel any day. Guess it is all down to your region and drivers.
