Any Facebook experts? Managing auto generated page

One of our clients has a Facebook page but Facebook also has a page which has been automatically generated for them based on Wikipedia etc. It's this page which shows up on searches and it has 4,200 likes (as opposed to their page which has 122) due to being found more easily.

How does one manage this page or merge them? I can't find anything on it at all.

Yep, except there's no "Is this your business?" option so it stops at the first step. That seems quite common from Googling.

I'm not surprised their own help section is out of date. They rattle through changes so fast their docs team must have a nightmare task.

So you could report the page you don't control, but you need to make it absolutely clear that you do not want to lose those likes and you want to merge with your proper business page and control it. Otherwise they may take your report as literal and just remove the wiki page.

You used to be able to contact Facebook and they would merge the pages together for you.

Yeah it's a nightmare. I've never understood why it's so difficult to contact firms like this, you think they'd have live chat at least.

And other companies don't? Not an excuse at all. When you expect companies to use and advertise on your platform you should at least offer some customer service aside from standard help pages which are outdated and useless.
