Any fans of Hustle?

It because far too fanciful when they had to come up with a new scam mechanic every week.

Would have been better if they reused the scam basics like con artists do but obviously change the details/plot twists.

If you don't have Marc Warren and Jaime Murray, you don't have Hustle. The original cast was perfectly chosen and superbly well balanced. Ain't broke? Don't fix it.

Exactly...the new cast changes with that new bird and her brother, that dipstick from Eastenders has ruined it for me...wont be recording it nor will i be watching it...watched the last series and thought it was absolutely dire in all honesty.

If it aint broke then dont fix simple as that...even the series where the black fella left ie the ringleader was a pretty silly thing...ruined the dynamics so when they brought him back i thought yayyyy but then realised that the tasty bird ie Murray had left along with Warren.

Watched Series 1-4, far too much Deus ex machina but enjoyed it non the less.

Didn't like it when they introduced the new guy, Billie Bond, as he was a terrible character and a repeat of the first story line with Danny.

Don't think I'll bother with 5/6.

Lost its way after the second series and became increasingly ridiculous from that point on. Didn't like the cast changes either.
Completely agree. Not even Jaime Murray can save this show.

It's one of the problems with British casts. After series three brought them international success and guest stars on the show, they could not b. off from the set any quicker. Adrian Lester didn't return for series four due to "other engagement". I'm sorry, son, but you are main character in merely 6 episode series that wrap up filming in under 6 weeks, what other engagements could you possibly have not to attend the only solid role people around the world know you for? What? Some pish posh 300 people at a time local theatre performance? So once they tow Lester back into the series from those "other engagements" no one heard about for a year, Marc Warren and Jaime Murray b. off. She goes on to US, to do most dire, bottom barrel scraping stuff, like strip for B role in Dexter and the horrible cancelled on the spot series Valentine. He goes to do background roles in US movies and few more 6 episode series for BBC.
I don't get it. We are not talking 24 episodes of Lost in the middle of jungle for half a year. We are talking the shortest series bar none on this side of Atlantic. If you can't keep that to your name, who on earth is going to work with you? It's like that Eccleston bloke in Dr. Who - who on earth will ever give you main role in anything, if you can't keep on for handful of episodes before "fearing to be type casted". You won't be type casted. You won't be casted as lead. Ever. Again. Good bye TV. Welcome Old Vic theatre and one-night plays. You might as well just start doing spots for breakfast tv. Oh wait, he actually did...

And who on earth negotiates contracts with those nutters?

I love it, from first series to current, however they can't replace the actors from the first (and second was it?) series.

but the last and current series are still worth a watch, admittedly this and Wossy was the only thing I'd watch on TV (Nevermind buzzcocks/Qi on iplayer)

Agree with v0n.

None of them hang around long enough to give the series cohesion. Its quite telling that the old chap from Man from Uncle is quite comfortable not to be running for better things. He has nothing more to prove.

The others wander off to the US, fail then come back (ala the black chap). The blonde girl isn't a patch on the dark haired girl and isn't "dirty" looking so doesn't really fit the "con" lifestyle. Same goes for the the ex Eastender. He doesn't really work and again not a patch on the guy he replaced.

Also, the big twists are getting tedious and more outlandish. Why not have one episode where it all goes wrong - just once. Its a bit like the A Team without guns.

Still nothing else worth watching in that time slot so I will continue to watch it.
