hi there, i was recently reading some stuff about female gamers on toms hardware which i found fascinating. ( see here. )

it made me curious to find out just how many female gamers are about here on this bulletin boards at the moment. i really think it would be cool to see it more widespread, after all, the internet is a powerful socialising tool, gaming (especially online gaming) being one of the branches stemming from it. any1 here a girl that games then? blokes and gals, feel free to leave opinions comments.

I was in a MOH/COD clan and there was and still is a few female gamers on there. They are pretty good too, i say no worst than your average gamers out there.

Known a couple of the best UK CS girl players, had a couple in my clan, so most are/were well known in the CS1.6 community, not sure where they are at the moment though, not followed the community for a while.

Thankfully non of them were the "look at me, I'm a girl and I play games, I want attention" etc.

Whilst she isnt part of these forums my wife is an avid gamer.
Aside from the sims2, she often fancies a game of CnC generals, Battlefield 2, Serious Sam, BFME2, Warcraft 3, Farcry, NeverWinter nights, Baldurs gate, Sacred etc..... (infact most RPG, FPS or RTS games.) every other evening we settle down for an hour or two mindlessly killing things.
She isnt keen playing anything competitively though, She either wants to play single player, or co-op.
Whilst she is not very good at FPS games (though she does try) she is outstanding at RTS Games. Her micromanaging/multitasking skills are great.

My girl plays games

My girl plays games occasionally, but only likes games that involve wandering around aimlessly collecting sparkle and fluffiness. e.g Uru or Sherlock Holmes

To be honest, I don't think real girls generally play first person shooters because the repetitive violence doesn’t exhilarate them in the same way it does for real men.

However, she does enjoy watching me playing first person shooters. In particular she likes the way I handle my weapon.......

However, she does enjoy watching me playing first person shooters. In particular she likes the way I handle my weapon.......

Miss K (My better half) can more than handle her weapon in Halo2. She gives most people we play with a run for their money and she has only really been playing FPSs for 18 months now. Compared to most male gamers 12+ years.

She loves that game more than any other game we have.

WoW, Anarchy Online and until very recently Ultima Online. Also CS, Unreal Tournament, used to play BF1942 and Jedi Knight II. There are others of course but they are the ones I spent most time on.

EDIT: oh and BattleTech 3025 whiole it lasted

I got my missus playing CSS, shes not that good at it.. although she doesn't usually come bottom of the score board

She hates RTS type games though, I tried to get her playing AOE, but she was having none of it, said it was boring.
