Any games that develop characters fully and emotions?

It's certainly marmite, but I found Bioshock Infinite to have the most enjoyable storyline of any game in the past few years. I was actually gutted when I finished it.

Same here. That game stayed with me for quite some time - I normally delete games off steam once I've finished them but couldn't with this haha.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is pretty good that way too, interesting world but it's really a background for the interaction between Trip and Monkey.

The only emotions I get from gaming are exhaustion, frustration, and relief. The latter after beating something that I've been banging my head against for a long time.

Very, very rarely something comes along like FF7, and takes you on a rollercoaster ride of different feelings.

But most times games don't really invest enough in the writing/characters to make you care about them.

Mass effect would be my suggestion as well. 1 and 2 are both on Steam if you are worried about origion.

But by the time you finish 2 you will be dying to play 3 and wont care what platform it comes on :P

very short game but i found that Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons was a very emotional experience, game got a lot of praise.

This ^

I wasn't expecting much from this game but after playing it, I found myself almost feeling sorry for the characters. Without spoiling anything, it's a really emotional story and some fun moments as well.

Knights of the old republic. Never played a game since that made me feel genuinely guilty for some of the choices I got to make in that game due to the way I played it.
