Any good clocking LGA775 boards with DDR1 and 2?

Well, I have at my disposal a prescott 3.0gig (LGA775), can anyone recommend (if there is any) motherboards that will run my prescott, aswell as allowing upgrade to C2D later on, aswell as support for DDR1 and DDR2 ram?

I cant really afford to upgrade to DDR2 now (not even sure DDR 2 works with prescott?) as my gfx card is in dire need of replacing (9800Pro on AMD 3200+ Clawhammer) and I figure if I can get a board thatll run the rescott I have, aswell as my DDR ram and give me the PCI-E slot for a better gfx card its worth doing, But I would like to (if possible) allow as much upgrade-ability as possible, so I can use DDR2 / C2D later on as funds allow.

If its not possible to have both DDR and DDR2, it would be beneficial to me to have at least 3 DDR slots, as I already have a Geil 1gb kit (2x512) and would like to get 2gb, so I need the extra slot for a 1GB module, as this would still work out cheaper than buying 2GB of DDR2 , even though it would mean another motherboard change later to get DDR2 support :(

All Core2Duo compatible motherboards will run your Prescott. But the ones that take DDR don't tend to clock very well. Indeed - very few of the ones that take DDR2 clock well either :rolleyes:

I would have to suggest that you wait and do the complete upgrade at one time. The classic entry level system is an E6300, Gigabyte P965-DS3 and 2Gb of Geil PC6400 DDR2 RAM. That lot should cost about £400 and will give you a very high performing system.

You could buy an ASRock 775Twins for about £35. That takes DDR Ram and your Prescott, but it will only clock to ~300FSB which will take an E6300 to about 2.1GHz. I wouldn't waste the £35 to be honest.
 
The 775Dual-VSTA is good for clocking P4s as the fsb is stable upto around 300mhz and the PCI/DDR feq is independent of the FSB. There are ppl running this board over 4Ghz. The problem is that there is no option to increase the CPU voltage in the BIOS so you have to join some contacts on the CPU using conductive paint. Its really easy but quite expensive to do as the cheapest stuff is £6 or so. I think it makes it more fun!
