been playing a fair bit and it seems as though the maps are too small. Mind you i'm only playing on 28/32 + player servers. I guess 16 might be more of a sweet spot. Although really, bigger maps are needed. Any news from the custom map scene?

While we're talking about COD4.... Anyone having fps problems with this game?

I seem to be dropping into the red all the time!?! I've turned shadows off, which helped a little, but it's still worse than it should be!?!

What's the best route to find the problem? I'm running an 8800GTS 320mb (not the best, but i would think it's good enough!?!) Q6600, 2gb RAM etc etc.

that card should be fine, most of my clan mates use that without any issue, but they don't run mega res. Whats the res your running it at?

Got to get into this game. CS:S is getting a bit old and tired. Reg issues in every game, against different people, valve have broken it completely now.

It should be very smooth at that res, I play at 1280x1024 on a 7800GT without too many problems. Are you using the latest drivers?

I think most people have it set to 80 now, punkbuster isnt banning for it so it seems fine.

i hope pb don't ban it as it feels far more natural at 80 than at 65. I would doubt that 'most' people have it at 80 though.

depends tbh, all of the people I play with in UCS clan have it at 80, and I imagine its well enough mentioned on the web that anyone playing COD4 serioulsy will have come across it.

Going to have to change that when i get home, hopefully will make the most o my widescreen

One thing about hardcore annoys me though - the friggin grenade drop perk which doesnt show up when the icons are off. means you have to run from every kill you make. Hope thats changed soon.

start a server, then once in-game press ` and type
\cg_fov 80
then press return..

then back at the console (`) press the up arrow and change 80 back to 65 (default setting) and press return. now try 70, 75 and see what suits you best.
