I am currently trailing Trend Micro which I think is great. But I was hoping to get a free virus software that is pretty good and update daily like trend micro do.

Any advice please

Regards
Andrew

Cheers mate I have just downloaded Antivir to see how that performed ;)

Anyone had any experince with this?
Yeah I've used that. Quite a decent prog but the update process launches this massive pop-up window that can only be close manually. So it works well, updates itself but the big problem for me is this pop-up. Not a patch on NOD32 in that respect which runs so silently I still, after a year, check its update status myself.

I've just yesterday installed the Comodo AV. Seems OK from what I've seen so far. Look for a thread I posted in yesterday and you'll find the recommendation.

Im using AVG free. It does the job dosent use much resources updates nearley every day. And can catch most viruses, i was half way downloading a rar file off utorrent and it found a virus in the rar file. I used to use avast but i slowed down my system a bit. I havent had any experience with anvir kaspersky is pretty good too :).

I'm another vote for AVG 7.5 and comodo firewall. Really shows up the old norton suite i used to have... uninstalling that dead-weight software got rid of 10-12 running proccesses at idle and the new two have like one each. Somuch neater and so much faster.

Not to metion them both being fantastic as well and at the bargain price of completely free.
