Hollow Knight, yeah its basically an indy 2d platformer but my god ive never known such great atmosphere and the art style is sublime. It actually doesnt feel like a action platformer, it feels more like an adventure.
As for 'full fat' 3d games, Prey was amazing, the Tomb Raider reboots were also pretty special.
Yeah definitely Kingdom Come and Prey. One is immersive RPG in medieval realistic world, the other is immersive RPG in hard scifi setting, and both are fantastic.
have you tried the recent pillars of eternity games ? they might not suit everyone though, they are a top down view of your characters in a fantasy setting, dungeons and dragons etc
Several good games mentioned already. If you not played Shadow of Tomb Raider, could consider Tomb Raider 2013 first, then Rise of the Tomb Raider before Shadow. Kingdom Come Deliverance is another good one and so is Prey. One that not been mentioned yet is ELEX. The start is rough on you though, no hand holding so you will have quiet a few deaths at the start until you reach around lvl 15 or so, then things start getting bit more even. You also have Assassins Creed Origins if you want another huge open world game.
Thats not a bad call, especially as the next game in the series is released on October 5th, so they could do Origins between now and then, also as they like Witcher 3 so much, AC:Origins has some Witcher-esque gameplay mechanics.
Prey, I also recently finished evil within 2 which was good, but it's old and must be played by all due to the fact it's amazing and still my fav game in last few years alien isolation
Hellblade : Senua's sacrifice
The Tomb raider games
NiNoKuni II
AC Origins is meant to be good, but no real experience from me there only from what ive read.
