just wondering if this would be good for gaming, and watching HD movies on a 22in?

Yep should work a treat, although you could probably build a better one cheaper. What monitor do you have?

just a crappy LG W2234S - although, it's been pretty good so far

They're not bad monitors, you won't be able to play blu rays @ 1080p tho as your monitors resolution is too small, but they will still look good.

never really understood the 1080p.

saying that, i've played gears of war 2 on it, and it looked just as good as my hd tv,, and as i'll only be using it in the bedroom, i think it will do for now - until i get a good gaming spec one.



so any suggestions on building my own spec pc?

i'd like to keep below £900 really going upto £1000 including a new operating system, as i currently only have xp home.


mainly using the computer for gaming and HD movies.

For 900 quid I'd go for something like this

But for a little over a grand you could get a core i7 based machine, something like this

Both specs include vista hp 64 bit. Although you'd have to drop the blu ray player for that.

how much better is the i7 one over the core 2 duo one?

how much better could the i7 or core duo one get if my budget was to £1300
but that would have to include a sound card or have very good on board audio.

for £1300 it would also need windows vista home premium.
