Any Harley Riders?

can't stand the guys who put mega loud pipes on Harleys then commute with them in London, serious noise pollution :( There's a couple I usually see and just want to roadrash kick them in to oncoming traffic

Would sooner walk, or stay on the SOFA. To me they are a abomination of engineering and how not to design a motorcycle.

If you cant get on a sports bike, get a Z1000 or something, more reliable, faster, better handling, cheaper to run, cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure, people will still nod at you and not think your a accountant from Norwich who is 5 steps away from being Alan Partridge.

I hate them.

I quite like the dyna wide glide. They're far too expensive though. The cruiser style is pretty fun, cornering feels more eventful and the noisy rumble is great too. It would have to be a second/third bike for me though. I'd get a Triumph speedmaster I think, that was a nice ride.

Ah well my love for sport bikes is slowly taking a back seat.. after 10 years of riding them I fancy something completely different.

Cant stop looking at this

'tis pretty.

Yeah, i like a bit of noise but those things are just stupid. Also, on my commute, some cruiser riders block the filtering space and don't move out of the way. You're wide mate, you've got panniers, move aside...

My ex wanted to do a Route 66 type US cruise on a Harley. I wanted to do it on a Triumph or something Japanese to wind up the locals (and enjoy a better ride!).

Yanks are quite welcoming towards triumphs, at least the retros/cruisers anyway :p Triumph used to export 200 bikes a week to the US in the 70s!

Ok, so maybe most people here are power rangers. I just wanted something to slow me down, enjoy the ride. Be comfortable.

Former Cruiser rider here, having discovered that an FJ1200 was a far better option for the torture I put my ride through on a daily basis.

If I were to get a Cruiser again, I'd be looking at the Japanese models - Usually far easier and cheaper to maintain and pretty darn reliable. I started on a 650 Dragstar, which was enough to get into trouble, muck about and to go play in traffic during commutes and/or distance rides. I've tried a number of other, larger models too and they're quite desirable.
I just got tired of the ball-ache that all the chrome-polishing brings, is all.
