Well i think those that are apposing it are being somewhat pedantic and also pathetic, i know this will get a great deal of use from me and itll be such a handy tool.

This is being hosted on webspace which is run on behalf of the Scout Association which in itself is a non profit organisation, any gains that are made through any of these sites int he form of adwords have to be donated to either escouts or the Scout Association, both of which are non profit. No personal gains here...

You're exactly right. This is Escouts' big project atm, and we decided at the pub last weekend that we'd use all the money from the ads on Route Hiker to pay for the server which everyone else's accounts go on.
I'm going to move route hiker to my company's server either tonight or tomorrow, to lighten the load on that server.

Btw its nothing to do with the Scout Association...its Escouts, which is just a group of volunteers who run an online community
