Any idea of when I should be looking to upgrade graphics card?

When building my new PC, I initially had dreams of 4k gaming bliss however with the current inflated prices of graphics cards (thanks miners!) I've decided to hold off until things settled for a bit and in the mean time bought a 1050ti which will hold me over for what I'm playing. Anyway, I don't follow the computer technology industry too closely so not sure where things currently stand but on a guess, when do you all think the graphics card prices will be a little more stable? With the current state of cryptocurrencies, I'm hoping soon but don't know where things stand from say Nvidia's perspective.

Nobody knows - cryptocurrency has been through many ups and downs and this hasn't deterred new miners - even with some large companies periodically not supporting it as a payment method.

It seems to weather these difficulties and attract new miners - and if figures/investments are made wisely these miners can pay for their gear in a few months (depending on their buying/selling skills). So not a lot at the moment to put off even the 'average Jo' dipping his toe in the digital pool if he's convinced he will at least cover his costs minimum (there are enough success stories in the forums). Year, upon year people keep on predicting that this is the year that will see the bottom fall out of the crypto market and yet here we are...

TBH, fare play to the miners - making the best of an opportunity - but you can turn a profit without mining (best way). But suspect it's not as satisfying - and some see it as a hobby, so again hard to predict against a hobby. I've read one thread where a guy bought 8+ 1080s (or similar) called it a hobby and was buying the cards with money he had made. It's still a risk but if he's enjoying the process - the risk is irrelevant if he's buying it with profit. Lots of miners do this...

This coupled with the price/shortage of DDR4 (mobile devices) - also helping inflate card prices - plus the Chinese's new obsession with PUGB - I can't see the prices coming down anytime very soon :/

This depends on if you're buying new or second hand, but either way wait for new releases to bring down older cards prices.

Wait for a new flagship, then ride the upgrade wave behind it.
