Any Idea What thi is a Picture of?

A work mate sent me this picture from a sheltered housing scheme. Th manager asked him if he could identify this.....


Any idea. Couldn't tell you if there are any markings on it other than what can be seen in this picture.

From an image search GLaDOS tells me it's either a neige detector (earthquakes) or more likely a wireless bed sensor mat alarm seeing as you mentioned sheltered housing.

They don't have slots in them since they're for detecting not outputting anything, that suggests an audio output i.e. an alarm or something of that kind

It's probably a disused device from years ago. It looks old. My guess is the manager just wants to know what it might have been used for and be sure it can be removed.

not exactly the same though could be a different purpose , also seems unbranded in ops photo
