Any idea where I can find a good phone number?

The saddest thing is that you're having to move to Britain from the Czech Republic :( welcome back bro but I bet you wish you were still there!

My number is average but have had it for ages so not planning on changing it - bought some GOLD numbers before but managed to lose the Orange PIN so couldn't register it to my name, then lost the SIM cards, fail :(

Now I bought a VOIP number with aql.co.uk (an 0203 one..) which diverts to my mobile in Malaysia - quite a good number and plenty to choose from with any prefix (although of course you have to pay the cost of the call diversion)

I'm considering moving back too :p
Life here isn't all that it's cracked up to be to be honest.

Just ask your service provider if you can have a list of numbers to choose from and pick the one you like best. I did this and picked a memorable one.

When I bought my voda contract in store they had a list of numbers for me to choose from

That is what happened to me. years ago now but always kept it.

Very nice as it contains a double and a triple then 4321.

I have recently completed a project at one of the big telecomms companies.

All these ones on Ebay, unless they are a REALLY special number will have been obtained by someone ordering thousands of pay as you go SIM cards and sifting through them, looking for any number that someone may like.

Come up with a memorable number, either via pattern or particular sequence, then ring it and see if the owner of the number will sell it to you. If it's not in use then see if you can request that number from the phone company.

Personally I don't really see the point in this since I can remember the top twenty or so numbers I normally use off the top of my head and my phonebook is there for the other numbers. Remembering a number isn't about the sequence or pattern of the digits but the priority assigned to it by the brain when committing it to memory. If your friends and family don't care about you then they won't remember your number :p

I have a brilliant number which I will never let go. I got it through being chatty with the vodafone sales person and a bit of bonding. No cost involved. Obviously not going to put it here but it is the most memorable number I have seen.

I've had the same number for years now ... 0770 662 AAAB. My home number was 0131 662 AAAC. I couldn't believe it when I saw the number on the side of the box. Happy days :D
