Ok just got this through anyone else got this - I don't have a battlenet account and have never had one so was somewhat bemused to see this come through. Any implications here I am not thinking of bar that my email will already be attached to an account I don't use?

Hello zhang,

Welcome to Battle.net!

You have successfully created the following Battle.net account:

[email protected]

The Battle.net account is a centralized account system that will let you manage all of the Blizzard Entertainment games you play, including World of Warcraft and future games, in one place without having to remember multiple sets of login information.

We highly recommend that you take this opportunity to verify your e-mail address. Verifying your e-mail address will unlock extra Battle.net account features, including the ability to register Blizzard games you own so that you can download them, free of charge, any time you want. To do so, simply click here:

In addition, you may also merge any World of Warcraft accounts you play with this Battle.net account. After merging, you will log in to the game and its associated online services such as World of Warcraft Account Management, the World of Warcraft Forums, and the World of Warcraft Armory, using your Battle.net login information. You can begin the account merge process at the Battle.net account homepage, located at http://www.battle.net/account.

I get emails like this CONSTANTLY on my old email address which used to have by battle.net account on it.

They just assume that lots of people have battle.net accounts. If you don't have an account, ignore it. And if you do, ignore it too.

Thing is, the originating email address is legit. Go to Battle.net (straight there - no links) and request a password change, also change the password on your email account.

Look at the headers on the e-mail, it probably never came from blizzard, and if it is it looks like you got yourself a free WoW/SC2 account!

Cheers for the input chaps rogue account deleted and now claimed my email back. A strange one why use my email rather than make a new one I don't know.

Got this same email, tried to check if someone used an account with my email and they require a first and last name so couldnt check if someone had an account with my email address. Put the email in junk tho.

Apparently I've been trying to sell my WOW account for about 3 years according to the numerous emails I still get!!

I thought it was strange since I've never played WOW a day in my life! :D

Ignore, mark as junk and ignore some more!
