What about Discworld games? There very old but still very taxing on the brain.

What about the game where you play the guy in the red jacket, is investigating something in france and it starts off with a cafe being blown up?

Broken Sword series, great game and can be really taxing.

Get hold of a copy of the original UFO-Enemy Unknown game (free if you look around). The turn based battles in that game were awesome on the higher difficulties, I still play it a lot.

In 15 years it's still the only game I've ever played with fully descructible scenery.
