Any issues with 4 sticks of DDR2?

I'm currently running 2 sticks of DDR2, and am considering adding another 2 seeing as they are so cheap at the moment (£37 for 2gig PC6400C4).

What I need to know is whether running 4 sticks has any problems in terms of reducing stability / overclock potential on an Asus P5N-E (nforce 650i ultra)? I know that running 4 sticks of DDR often caused issues on S939 setups, how do things fare with DDR2 on S775?

It can hinder CO'ing but no it dont have issues of needing to run at DDR333 or 2T modes like NF4 Chipsets.

You may need up volts a tad for Memory and Chipset(s) for 4x1GB Modules or 2x2GB modules.

In theory you should have no issues. Maybe a slight bump of the memory and northbridge voltages will be necessary.

Tho the P5N-E SLi is known to have issues running four sticks at 800mhz, but setting then to 830mhz seems to do the trick.

Thanks. Could be a problem for me as my existing RAM (PC5400C4) won't do much over 800. Might be able to get more at CAS5 I suppose....

best to try to match your existing ram, btw, i.e. put in 2 of what you already have - if you can find 'em.

Thought about that but with the PC6400C4 being so cheap there would be very little saving in getting PC5400. Also if the second batch couldn't match my existing ones (~DDR808) then I'd be losing some speed.

Bit of a moot point now anyway as the Geil RAM has just gone up £7 so I'll probably stick with 2gig for the time being.
