Ouch, so the car takes 3.5L and you then ran it with likely 6L in? This likely won't end well.

Just got call from garage and car has been flushed of oil and refilled all is good . Cost me £47.50 .

Guy that just drained it said there was around 4.5 litres in there.

It'll only have been smoking because the oil was forced through the breather, as long as it's not locked up it will more than likely be fine.

My sister did this on her old nissan micra, (thought she had to fill it to the top of the oil filler, needless to say shes now banned from doing anything mechanical, me or my dad see to that)

Drained off the excess and it was fine, smoked for a while while the breather system cleared but all was good.

Not really worth worrying about it now - if it's still running and not bellowing out smoke then great, see how you go with it
