Any men here had "the snip" over the last year or so? (Not Medical)

went to the FPC myself, got an appointment for councilling the week after, had counciling session then waited about 3 weeks. Had it done and went to work the next day 
That actually failed so I had it done again, which took about 10 days after finding out the first had failed.
Just for the ultimate annoyance the second one failed as well
guess I have one tube with 4 cuts :|

And also - do you have to "test" it out to see if it has failed or not?

I work for the local Trust in our area. think they have about a two week turn around.
You can tell who has had it done though as they walk out the front doors. Looks like they just rode into town. It is quite amusing.
That said i know how good the nurses are using a computer and there is no way i am letting them near my old chums with anything sharp.

I know it's a pretty quick turn around here, I need to ring up and book my appointment actually. Saw my GP before Christmas, have the letter from the clinic now it's just getting the courage to actually do it

Had it done a couple of years ago. Saw my GP in the April, got counselling appointment a couple of weeks later at the hospital at which they got me and the wife to sign the forms. Then they simply opened a diary and said when suits. Got it done in the June so two months for me.
One of my colleagues however, who stays in another Health Board area was told it would be a year at least. He went to the FPC and got it done within three weeks.
And for those thinking of having it done I can thoroughly recommend it. The vinegar strokes are just that bit more intense

Had this done two years ago. My other halfs "depo" was causing problems so it was for the best.
Actually had it done at the GP as they had a small surgical unit. So initial appointment was 1 week with procedure the next.
Injections didn't hurt, the only pain was when he let the forceps slip after he cut one tube and had to reach in and pull it out agin. That had me going for the entonox big time
Had no swelling and no sex for 7 days.
After that had to provide a sample after 26 ejaculations ( time frame is up to you, did it in less than 2 weeks as the other half was coming up for a renewal of her depo, plus she rather enjoyed the process of reaching the required number too).
Afer you get the all clear you officially join the blank firing only club too

Dunno about now ....mine was in 1975; drove there and back myself, local anaesthetic, watched the smoke rise as he cauterized the ends ....... and was at work the next day. ....

I can see how people can say they can spot who has had it done 'immediately' afterwards, especially based on their walk. Even a local anaesthetic last for a couple of hours afterwards. The rather sheepish look on the face would probably give it away though.
