bargain of the century.

if you have hesitation issues, it requires the 6463 update from VW, dont take no crap about trying to be charged for it either.

its best to get this, and then get a remap, rather than go for a straight remap.

find someone local with VAG-com, its invaluable!

Dont immediatly think the haldex isnt working when you understeer in a corner, it only works under power and as standard is very lapse on the response time - get a Haldex Performance upgrade however and your flyin ;)

I guess the essential setup is similar to my old s3 then as that was Haldex too, its got full main dealer history so maybe the updates been done, have often thought about buying vagcom so now might be the time still its about 6 weeks away at least so feels like an eternity, just out of interest driven carefully what sort of mpg can they return low to mid 20's on free flowing urban driving? its going to be a shock again coming from a 1.9 tdi a4

i got 40mpg the other day but that was doing 60 on the motorway!

mines not setup right at the moment, i have a decat and milltek resonated with only stage 1 mapping, so its throwing fuel in for fun. its averaging about 20mpg at the moment but i never drive it sensibly :D

40mpg bloody hell thats great, yeah sure its at 60mph but for a 3.2v6 4wd car its amazing i think ill be lucky to see 23-25 on my daily trip but its only 8miles each way so its not so bad, the main gripe i have in actually buying it is that my wife has a 53 plate black aswell! mk4 golf gti pd150 3dr i know there totally different beasts but not so much in outright looks

How does the MKIV compare to the MKV?

in what way? its a pretty much identical engine and driveline apart from some ecu tweaks, and some differences with the gearbox.

the chassis a lot stiffer, but drivers of both cars have said the mk4 is more the drivers car and the mk5 is more the rep/cruiser car.

got to say i prefer the exterior of the MK4, interior of MK5 is a bit nicer imo, Wayn0r what ICE do you have in yours? If I get it i was thinking of getting a VW MFD unit off ebay but the only problem then is I need a cd changer aswell if one isnt fitted, think it comes with the gamma and 6 disk dash changer which like my wifes is perfectly acceptable but a bit boring, maybe an aftermarket double din unit would be a better bet

at the moment totally stock. gamma head and 6cd indash changer.

Coming in the next couple of weeks is the new alpine w202r, alpine amp and alpine sub (not sure on latter 2 yet, waiting on some information back.)

Im not bothering changing the speakers as the stock ones are pretty good!
