My internet has been EXTREMELY slow for the past few days. Usual download speeds hit between 300-700kb/sec but for the past few days im lucky if it hits 30! I thought I would leave it for abit to see if anything changes but it still hasnt, is anyone else experiencing the same?

Logging on to my control at nildram shows...

Results for exchange: Rusholme
Congestion

Congestion status on this exchange is RED.

Your telephone line has been identified as being on a congested exchange. If you are receiving varying speeds between 400kbs - 2000kbs at different times of the day this is likely to be a result of the congestion issue.
A provisional date of Nov 30, 2006 has been set for upgrading this exchange.
Major Service Outages

There are no Major Service Outages on your line at this present time

I'm suppose to be on 8 meg, this is so damn annoying

it's not nildram that are having the problem, it's BT...

I still felt like having a go at nildram :p

So are others out there having similar problems? At the moment im hitting 15 kb/sec, it feels worse then dial up to be honest :o

It will affect every one on your exchange unless they have a 1:1 contention service, you are probably on a standard 50:1 service, you will find that it will vary at different times of the day depending on peak usage times etc.

Only other people on the rusholme exchange can answer that question :)

Good way to check is to use the BT speed tester with the bt test username and then your normal ISP username and see if there is any difference

Just spoke to a mate whos on BE internet also at the rusholme exchange, hes having no problems whatsoever.

Being on LLU (local loop unbundling) means that his traffic isn't going via BT centrals. This means that the red capacity does not apply to him :)

I'm on the Rusholme Exchange!!! Small world, not seen any slowdown really, normal speeds here. On IDNet on the Home SuperMax package.

There's nothing on Sam Knows regarding congestion or any upgrades.
