Just wondered if any of you guys used your console on your pc monitor and sat directly infront just as you would on the computer?...I have my gaming set up downstairs, Onkyo speaker system and the like, but just wondered if playing console on PC monitor so close is a little weird? ... - I want to make a little set up in my bedroom you see.

Guys what monitors are you using? if i plug xbox360/ps3 into my 24inch samsung monitor it gives me washed out colours and very dull picture.

Yep I do on my Phillips 24" something or other. I think I prefer it to the generrally better colour and contrast. Somtimes sound is an issue as I have a 3.5mm audio cable from monitor out to my speakers (which is a really good design idea from Phillips as the monitor itself doesn't have speakers).

Howevr as I am so close to the screen and used to playing games at 1080p high settings etc on pc , I do notice the reduced quality on console more when I use my monitor compared to when I'm lounging on my sofa with it hooked up to my tv.

I used to play my ps3 on a HP 22" ultra gloss monitor, via hdmi; looked the bee's as most games are only 720. Playing on a big screen now in my living room doesn't give the same feel; like standing in front or an arcade. But it means I can lounge on the sofa, rug or bean bag now.

Sure beats the days of sitting in front of a 14" ferguson tv playing on a master system... Or does it.. Lol

I'm currently using a 46" LCD television but I've been thinking for awhile that I want to get a PC monitor and play from that. I don't play many PC games but I was playing the original Cossacks a few months back, and realised how much more immersive the game feels when you're up close with it.

Input lag is certainly almost always better, however SONY have just released a new television that has 8ms input lag, which is a class leader at the moment.

I Have my ps3 currently plugged into a hdmi splitter, ebay has them, one output goes to benq 24 inch monitor, the other goes to my sony av amp, them onto the acer projector at 100 inch screen, so rotating my chair gets me best off both.

Used to have my PS3 hooked up to an old Samsung Pebble 22" monitor. Can't say it was any better or worse than having it hooked up to my TV

I have my spare Xbox 360 hooked up through my secondary monitor, works fine for me. I seem to notice any jaggies a bit more on the monitor as I'm obviously sat a lot closer, but beyond that it's all good.

I'm using a 360 on a Dell U2412M via the old-skool VGA cable. There's the odd jaggy as the nearest 16:10 resolution is a non-native 1680x1050, but it works well.

Have hooked up a 360 and a PS3 to a Philips 20" and Dell 23" respectively (both IPS). Both looked great. Tbh I'd rather use a monitor than a TV.

I usually change between the monitor and TV, but I find the monitor (24") as being much better for most games, and for me, it is the only useable one for racing games. The TV is on the wall at an awkward place. :p

I use a Dell U2412M, and it is 16:10, but there is zero problems with a PS3. I find it gives very good colours, fast response times, and generally much easier to see everything going on.
