hi all just started to defrag me pc thought i would move it a little while it was doing so but i hit the reset button, now it wont even go into windows it hangs at the windows loading screen.im formating agian

the reset probably happened whilst a file was being moved therefore corrupting it and if that file was something vital then thats going to cause problems... you could take the drive out and put it in another computer and try defragging it and see if that heals the issue... or do a system recovery via your windows cd... or fresh install.

I always switch off before moving.

yeah ive opted for the format/install

just got me new 7600gt agp had it running aint tested it on a game yet to see if this one is ok as me last one was borked.will let you know how it goes

Instead of formatting why dont you try a repair fist. Saves you from reloading all the apps, etc.

Yeah you take out the hdd smash it up a bit, put it back in then try the repair route FIRST

plus windows repair is will give you the ability to get into windows again, but if you've used windows update, then file versions will be borked!
