Is there any that are particularly fun or all of them??? played one of them years back and it was quite good. worth it though?

thanks guys

Depends what you call fun. Some people say that walking a mile in Red Orchestra and then suddenly getting shot is fun :p

Only one of the most popular online games ever. :p

I'd get CS Source. CS 1.6 is meant to be better (I can't even remember) but if you're looking for the better graphics and great gameplay, go for Source. It's only about £4 these days isn't it?

No they're crap. No one plays them.

:o

I can't believe you even have to ask :p I know "there's no such thing as a stupid question" and all, but I just can't believe it!

CS 1.6 is my favourite, it feels more "pure" for me as it's the first one I played so is the game I learned to love. A lot of people don't like the fact that it looks really very dated now, especially people who played CS Source first. To me, 1.6 feels smooth and streamlined, without anything getting in the way of the core gameplay. Playing CS Source, in comparison, feels like I'm playing through a "window" so to speak. It's hard to explain.

CS:S (Source) is the real sequel to CS 1.6, any others you see on steam are just a bunch of crap :p It uses the source engine from Half Life 2, which brings much better graphics, sound and physics. There is widespread debate about which has superiour gameplay, I've noticed that people tend to like the one they got in to first, as then the other seems to just "feel wrong" to them.

It's one of those games that you can really hook your reactions/muscle memory into. It can also get extremely addictive if you play with a regular crew and use VOIP.

Hehe thanks for the answers guys, lol forgive me guys just really got into PC gaming a few months ago(was a console gamer). So would CS:Source be a good choice>>

thanks again.

I prefer the first :o

:D

CS:S is a good choice over 1.6 mainly for the visual aspect, but it really depends on who you ask.

The only thing you need to be wary of is the quite steep learning curve, 1.6 slightly more than CS:S but once you get the hang of them they are great fun :)

I've been playing CSS for over 6 years now! Fantastic game, but you need to get into competitive play to get the best out of the game and how fast you improve.

There's a steep learning curve so you may get frustrated at the start, but persevere as it's an awesome game. I prefer 1.6 but I do better in Source

Yeah they are great. Loads of servers with fun mini games if you don't fancy the generic maps like surfing, zombies or football with a knife.:p

i tried to play cs a at early part of the year for the first time..

players are far too advanced and good for me i just got absolutely owned every single game...

massive learning curve in fact probably the biggest steepest learning curve ive every tried to overcome on a online shooter...

Lol im scared of gettin owned online too.

and you defo will mate.

im not saying you are crap at games or owt but serious the level of skill required to play cs is like nothing else and the level of skill the players have is hard to match...

i did a lot better on the cs:go beta tho...

i prefer 1.6/cz, (got too many hours on Cz due to getting in with clans and stuff, only play public now and thats rare due to work!) im okay at css but the hit markers frustrate the life out of me as too different to 1.6/cz.. :) come on a pub server though so i can pwn you :D x

I don't know what this is about steep learning curve, I have played a lot of css in my time but not on a regular basis, I can join most public servers and be near the top of the scoreboard without a lot of effort.

Its just about positioning yourself tactically and timing. I don't find reactions have a lot to do with it.
