any other remotes to look for apart from harmony one?

I assumed the logitech would be able to do that. The buttons even show 'watch movie' etc

Things i would like from it

Turn on tv, turn on pc (from standby), turn on amp and select input, turn off lights
Or
Turn on tv, turn on xbox, turn on amp and select input 'xbox' turn down lights.
Or
All off, lights on

Surely any remote can do things like that?

I won't need things like select channel (don't have sky or anything just htpc) and WMC auto loads anyway

Yes all Harmonys do that.

its just with the 1100, you cant create any custom macros.
luckily for me the only one i really used on the 1000 was my pin code for virgin, just means i have to type it in manually.

selecting the activity will turn on any devices that are needed for it and turn off any that arn't. And it'll set the various modes needed, ie tv channel, amp channel, etc

you can also set custom commands to send when each activity starts, i had mine setup to dim the lights with i use the watch movie activity.

also the 1100 can have favorites, which will select the channel for you use a combination of numbers, no need for custom macros for that either.

it would be nice to have these custom macros, but it certaintly isn't required

im trying to see what i will actually miss out on having macros compared to not.

at the moment i cant see anything obvious. What i dont want to happen is to come across something down the line
