Any parts hordes out there

I keep my old PC parts "just in case" I need a spare part to test for a failure in my current rig. IIRC I've still got a working GTX 1070, GTX 780, 2600k @4.6Ghz on a P8P67Pro board with 16Gb RAM, 2 Corsair PSU's (550w & 750w) and handful of early OCZ SSD's and generic brand HDD's etc.

At some point I should pass it all on to a "PC Parts" charity etc but I can't find one near where I live than seems like its not some kind of scam.

I'm sure I've still got a Voodoo 3 somewhere, sticks of 30-pin RAM and a couple of MFM/RLL/whatever they are 5.25" hard drives. :o

I have 2 fully functional systems in the garage going unused, they both have 1080’s and associated hardware for that generation, M2 drives etc. Most of it with boxes too, they must be worth a few quid to somebody, particularly the GPU’s.

There’s an old R9 290 in there too come to think of it.

Appreciate the reminder OP, may actually do something with them now, a few extra quid for Xmas would be great!

I've got an nvidia 970gtx on the shelf behind me that i kept. Ebay buyer broke it trying to remove the watercooling block and slipped with a screwdriver taking a few caps off the board. Cheeky **** tried to say i sent it broken. Kept it because it was worthless and i really appreciated the cnc work on the EK waterblock. Was going to mount it in a frame and fill with UV dye but never got round to it.

I wouldn't say I'm a hoarder or a collector of parts, I just seem to keep some of them for one reason or another and then forget about them!

While clearing out the loft recently I found this lot buried in the numerous boxes....

In no particular order, there's a 9700Pro, MX200, Diamond Stealth 64, X1900XTX, HD4870 almost all modified in some way. I see this as evidence that I used to by ATI/AMD GPUs once upon a time.
There's enough CD/DVD rewriters to make a jukebox and some thingy's to stick your floppy in to. The crappy PSUs were ripped out from old donor systems and kept because they may come in "handy" but they've since been binned. What's not in the image above are the two motherboards I used for such a long time - a Soyo KT333 Dragon Ultra and an infamous DFI LanParty RDX200.

I've been in this game for too long :D.

I bought the X1900XTX from OcUK with the IceQ cooler. I guess HIS went out of business, I wonder how good those IceQ coolers would fare on current generation graphics cards, they were super quiet in any game if I remember right.

I have tons of parts. And if I see a bargain or what I perceive to be one then I have to get it. My worst vice of them all is collecting GPU's from the current generation. During the 3xxx series generation I had at one time 22 3xxx series cards. 14 3080ti's, 2 3090 Ti's, 5 3070, 3 3070 Ti's and a few other less notable 3xxx series cards.

On the 4090 release I bought 5 4090's 2 4080's. and since that release still pick up 4090's, 4070 Ti supers and lately I am going through a 4080 phase.

Broke my x1900xt-x very soon after buying it :(

If i remember right the end of one the wires in my small PC shuttle case at the time fell into the x1900xt-x fan so the fan couldn't spin and cooked the card
