im using the razer kraken pro v2 headphones, non usb connected to my external asus xonar u7 usb sound card.. im using the external because before i changed the case and motherboard i tried a pcie asus and creative sound card and could hear interference in the headphones. both units were brand new sealed from ocuk.

would there be any point in upgrading my sound card that i have and getting an internal pcie one? im guessing the interference will be gone now with my new setup? and if so which sound card?

thanx in advance.

Sound quality of that headset likely isn't that great for binaural sound.
Besides good 360 degree directionality there should be clear sense of distance:
Set everything to 2.0/stereo and disable any effects for those.

That Xonar U7 has Dolby Headphone buried in its software.
Though with that headset likely having strong bass Dolby Headphone isn't exactly good for that with its bass bloat.

Also that motherboard has some software for its integrated sound card claiming .
Thugh that hyping of that "Sonic Radar" isn't most promising: With good binaural simulation and good headphones you'll hear direction

thanx man il just stick with what i have and try the dolby headphone surround thing, sounds like a plan?
any idea why i was getting interference before?

No I would stick to external sound cards / dacs.
thanx guys, always external sound cards and never buy internal? lol
what sample rate and bit depth do i want? 192 24? i have xonar software set on headphones and also the virtual surround thing in dolby software on headphones max level
