My dad had an incident at work today, somebody in a J Reg BMW 520i cut across the front of him entering a roundabout, misjudged the gap by the sounds of it screwing their rear wing up in the process & tearing their rear bumper off.

Thing is, they didnt stop, they carried on driving like a numpty & sped off.

No damage done to my dads vehicle at the time as he was driving 32 Tons of Volvo FL10.

He says theres no point reporting it as his truck was not damaged, but dont you have to report any such collision?

He has all the car details, reg number, colour, model etc

He needs to tell his insurance company in case the driver reports him via police or the people he drives for.

It's the companies policy i think, as anyone is insured on the vehicles.

He should report it as the other driver failed to stop. If he doesn't report it, what's to stop the other driver coming forward in a few days and saying it was your old mans fault to the police who then gets in trouble for not reporting the accident.

Maybe the other driver isnt insured hence why they didnt stop.

Done one of those DVLA checks on the registration number & the car is taxed until 31st March 2008, so it's only very recently been taxed so i cant see it being uninsured, unless it was someone else driving..
