Any point upgrading from GTX570?

I'm about to rebuild my machine and that is an obvious time to get any hardware updates done at the same time.
I'm currently using a:

MSI GeForce GTX570 Twin FrozR III 1280MB

I game on a single display at 1920x1200. I like to have as much detail switched on as possible - I'm no fan of having to sacrifice image and colours just so I can get speed.
Is there any point upgrading from this card to any of the current cards with a sensible budget?
Basically I guess my question is:

If I wanted to upgrade from the card above to something that would probably give me a noticeable increase in performance, what would I be looking to upgrade to and at what kind of cost.

If you are looking for a worthwhile speed boost I would suggest that the GTX780 is the only card that you look at? But the price tag is off putting to say the least. I suppose though that the GTX670 and 7950 will offer you around 30% more performance but at the cost of £220+. Whether that is worth it is up to you.
 
New consoles coming out so games will take a turn for the better. Expect cards to require more VRAM from that point on so be careful with what you purchase as to make sure it has enough VRAM for textures etc.

Have you seen the in game footage for the Ps4/Xbox One? :p

Probably the most dissapointing generation jump ever.
 
I don't see the point in upgrading right now when the next generation of games starts at the end of the year. A 570 runs current generation games just fine, so i would wait until next year and then upgrade.

To be honest i always think refreshes are the best time to buy. Maxwell/AMD's next architecture wont be out till Q1/Q2 2014 so probably a good 8 month wait minimum.

With refreshes you normally get a card that has all the bugs ironed out and one that has dropped a lot from when it was new. If you shop around just look what you can get overclocked and cutom cooled GTX 770's for (~£300). Compare that to what a premium windforce/lightning/superclocked GTX 680 would have cost you on release!... and you've still got 10% more performance!

Lets face it, if the GTX 780 is anything to go by a flagship maxwell is going to be at least £450 probably. I'm upgrading to a 770 from a 480 now. Gives me a new toy and should last me until Maxwell drops its prices/refreshes ;)
 
I'm in your position too

My GTX 570 is fine for most currently games on Highest settings (1080p) and will probably last a good while longer (12-18months) at Ultra.

I may wait for the 8**/9*** series and pcik up a GTX 770 Secondhand.:)

I see your point, i am on the edge of upgrading also.

This is how i look at it. From now until the new consoles and games hit, i don't see many games getting released that would make the purchase of a new GPU worth it, especially if your current card runs games just fine.
 
Just replaced my GTX 570 with a GTX 770 but I'm seeing some fairly severe bottlenecks with my Q9550 - getting about 60% gpu usage with all CPU cores maxed in BFBC2 :eek: It was really the upgrade itch that took me and hoping I could get some decent framerate increases to run Metro in 3D better (not tried it yet). Also a good time to buy imo as it will be a long time until new cards and using the last two years as a marker of future trends, GPU prices do not seem to drop.

Is 770 enough for 1080 everything maxed on all games?
