"This is being fixed and Be* staff in the UK are aware..
It was solved for about 20 minutes but the fault has recurred again at 9:18pm.
It is NOT a DNS problem - looks so far like a route to parts of the internet (mainly USA sites) has gone down..
This includes:
-Google
-Yahoo
-YouTube (oh noes!)
-OpenDNS DNS servers (so people set to opendns will not be able to resolve names) but not the website.
-Mozilla website
-Ripe.net
Early indications from basic trace routing while the connection was working shows the hop failing as above.net.
Ah, i never actually look at this forum section but my connection has been doing my nut so i thought I'd have a glance. Instantly i see the whole problem spelled out for me in plain English, fantastic stuff, cheers guys.
Funny how much you miss sites like Google when you can't reach them. After trying Yahoo and Ask I couldn't think of any other search engines and my usual response to such things is to Google it!
I thought I'd be smart and try google.co.uk but it didn't work, I take it it must be hosted over at Google Towers in the US.
