Any problems with going SLI ?

On a side note, is dead rising 3 working with SLI yet?

If a game is not designed or developed to run SLI (90% are not) then it's up to Nvidia to find a workaround and get it working by force.

Sometimes that just doesn't work, hence falling back on one card.

Adding SLI support costs time and money, and game devs are about the meanest SOBs on the face of this earth.

Does it matter if I use non reference cards in SLI, as apposed
to reference cards ?

I only ask, as I have seen a few people recommending
reference cards in SLI.

I use nin ref gigabyte wf 780's. Temps on the top one do hit the high 70's vs mid 60's on the lower one. Pretty tight space between the cards so the air from the top one gets trapped. Reference models exhaust via the pcie slot so run a bit cooler in sli.

Sli is pretty solid.
Sli is virtually faultless to use now days.
I would agree, also, no problems here with GTX 780 2-way SLI since i got them, it just works and looks great in the pc case. Most games are ok, probably the worst game developer/publisher in the world is ubisoft, often their pc patches break their own games, but most of ubisoft's games are mind numbing rubbish anyway so nothing lost there. Assetto Corsa works well with SLI.

People normally recommend reference cards for SLI due to them pushing ALL their hot air out the back of the case and not feeding it to the other card.

On the flip side, reference cards run hotter anyway so if you have good airflow you can SLI with non reference cards and get better results.

Just waiting to see when the reference 970's appear before going 970 sli.

I doubt we will be seeing consumer cards with the nvidia reference cooler due to how expensive it is to produce and the relatively low cost of the 970.

Palit and Galax both sell reference style coolers for their cards though.
