Any recommendations for a DAC/AMP for headphone use from PC?

Thanks a million rids, so if the 250Ohm's are 25:1 with the STX that's better than the 8:1 of the 80's? If I've understood you correctly?

yep, though as I said, they are not terribly sensitive to low damping factor so 8:1 would probably be ok. As you have no intention of using them on mobile gear you may as well go for the 250 ohm as they will have a very slightly tighter bass response compared with the 80's.

Great thanks, so I think I've enough information now to order, and as mentioned it'll only be at my PC these are used, with a view to a DAC/AMP upgrade in the future?

Thanks everyone for bearing with me, it's really the first time I've spent this much on music components so I've never needed to look into it before, hence all the questions

Unless something changes I'll have a bash at the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's 250 Ohm's, if they're rubbish, I'll just blame you lot, lol

Ordered the DT770 Pro 250 Ohm's at a lower price, 10 mins later they went up by £15

Really looking forward to using these with the STX, should be here in a few days (I cheap'd out on the delivery)
