Looking into building a lean to roof along my back garden path. 1.5m width x 3M. Will be using 2"x2" uprights and the same for a underframe. I'd be putting 4 uprights each side, so roughly 50cm apart- then 2"x2" running across to support the roofing sheets.

If I get bitumen roofing, will it be suitable for this? Or go for PVC, or metal?

Not a roofer, but the obvious is bitumen will be quieter in the rain but has the shortest lifespan - decent stuff should still last a decade but just consider that it will need replacing. PVC and metal will be much louder in the rain, but should last a lot longer. Metal will likely be more expensive, and heavier to install - especially if this is a one-man job.

That is going to look horrible but it'll keep the rain off you.. 2x2 supports are small. Just use fence posts if you're going cheap.

Well 3x3 posts and 3x2 wallplate and front support would be better
No need for any more than that
2x2 IS a bit small tbh

I used bitumen for mine on the back of the garage. Was easy to work with but don't expect to use a saw again after cutting it :|

Will 50 screws be about right for 4m x 1.5m?

I've approximated I'll need six of these. It doesn't have to be 4m exactly as long as it covers most of the garden path, 3.8 will be fine

I would spend the extra for polycarbonate roofing but that one is available off the shelf 1.5M which is perfect size
