Having some nightmare issues with one customers laptop on win7, there son installed the IE9 last week and there just unhappy with it and wanted to go back to IE8.

I checked on google and so many have issues uninstalling it... theres long command lines which ive tried to run thru admin>cmd prompt, tried to uninstall from installed updates in programs and features and it doesnt even show in the list...

Have Ms made an uninstaller for IE9 ?

Also is there anyway to download IE8 standalone for Win7, since all ms links are for vista 32/64...and they dont run on win7.

Its like ms purposely want to force ie9 for all win7 customers !

just go to view installed updates and uninstall from there

lol the irony is so many online have the same issue.... its 100% not showing in add/remove or programs and features, even under installed updates....

Looks like back to square one again

ok quick update.

ran ccleaner and reg scan/fix

rebooted went to programs and features and clicked turn windows features on/off, and unchecked IE8.

This way IE8 was uninstalled from the customers Win7 machine, rebooted again and ran ccleaner again just in case, reloaded IE9 Final/Full since MS doesnt have any Win7 IE8 links! and then went to programs and features>View installed updates and IE9 appeared on list then uninstalled it from there.

Rebooted and it defaulted to IE8 and it worked !

Should have charged customer big time for that but didnt cos its just so stupid MS doesnt have a decent guide or way of uninstalling IE9.

Anyhow its still not nearly as bad as the old days when symantec didnt have a norton removal tool !
