any users here from Hull?

I'm sure some of those strong words will ruffle the feathers of a few housewives. Which I supposed it's designed to do.

Don't agree with everything in it but then I too care little about a Royal Wedding. I wish them all the best, the lad seems to have kept a clean record unlike a lot of the rest of his family.

Personally I think theres a general feeling of resentment towards some of the very large cities like london which seem to get everything when it comes to any sort of event or new business ventures. The city itself has some of the worst unemployment statistics in the country due to more and more business ventures heading south to where the capital is. Its hard to put into words what your average "Hullian" is like really, but most you'd meet in the street (especially in the town) would be quite openly hostile if you had a southern accent and asked a "daft question" :D

unless you count midlands as south :D

The Humber river? Are you not from Ull?

The Humber is an estuary, not a river. Too be honest I don't think people are bothered about the wedding day in Hull. I'm only pleased about the wedding because I am having the extended week off work, So I am off from Good Friday till the day after May Day.

Hull people are some of the friendliest people around, we at least speak to and hold conversations with new-comers and tourists who visit the city.

Anyway that Paul Heaton bloke lives in Leeds now.

Hull isnt that bad, the main problem with it is the high chav ratio, I actually like Prince William and his bird (cant remember her name :D) and am looking forward to the bank holiday, but I wont under any circumstances be celebrating their marriage purely because I have no interest in it.
