Most of Grimsby/Cleethorpes looks out to the North Sea and I don't think anyone wants to call it the Humber Estuary.

My point was that the North east is the same side of the "river" as Hull is.

i can understand this. i live in the midlands and there are countless areas that need re-developing and there are also places which could successfully hold some events which seem to be given to london. it's also a heck of a lot easier to get to and around.

Well perhaps not the estuary, any reason on not wanting to call it the humber?

Thats what we call it up here in Scotland, quite an import natural border in history obviously.
