Hmm, sorry but I have to refer you to this eBay auction.

Specifically, I think this quote is relevant:

"Custom Muravey is unique attraction, not like bolting chrome handrails and mirrors to Vespa like a disabled person bathroom."

Yeah. I'm just gonna skip the nonsense/politeness and say scooters are gay. Especially white ones with loads of lights and rails. :o:p

Not that it's at all relevant but "ICT Specialist" is the job title of Trade Group 4 in the RAF. ICT doesn't just mean computers, it means communications and my job is ground radio/radar. Although I trained on computers as well (a few years ago), the RAF don't really require me to know things like which graphics card is the best at the moment; hence the "simple questions".

Any way, enjoy your awesome motorcycle.

why do you ask?

na not to much into the mod thing, i just love 2stroke vespa's lots of the chaps i hooked up with at a local scooter club are proper mods, but not for me, i ride with flared jeans and leather :D

Saw quite a few scooter riders in Southampton last Friday, Bank Holiday run ? :D

it's a scooter, and i will.

ICT in RAF means 'people who don't fit in the real world' :D

all heading to IOW for the scooter rally, people came from all around Europe on scooters, i met one guy who's scoot was worth 25k and because of that he does not ride it, he had it transported... lol bit sad! it can get quite rowdy overthere as well, proper old school mods.

Not got one, but there's one that parks in our little group at work. I swear his idle speed drops noticeably when he switches all the lights on - must ask him if he has to turn some off to go uphill?

Jimlad - not my personal cup of tea but a very nicely presented bike and if it makes you smile, who cares about the abuse you get in this thread (and I'm guessing there will be more! :D )

fair do's mate, i was really wondering if any other vespa owners were about on here. not sure about the idle speed, properly more the other way round, when mine is not ticking right the lights dim

Just wondering whether the insurance care or not. Guess you have then. :p I was out on my brand new 50cc 4 stroke today was painfully slow compared to my mates, (full throttle was getting 30)all got Aerox and Speedfight's doing 50+ odd, illegally may I add. Birthday in March so probably get a 100cc ped or 125 so I can do at least 45 legally. :)

Don't own a Vespa but my ride is a scooter, Gilera Nexus 500, which I love to bits as it has got me safely to and from work nearly all year round for the past 4 years :D

1996 Vespa T5 Classic (125).

Only things I've changed or added since I got it was to replace the alloy stand feet (that you can see in the pic) with original rubber ones.

I read that the alloy ones have a tendency to fuse to the stand, and sure enough they had (it was a PITA to get them off).

Also changed the original black plastic mudguard crest with a stainless steel one, which was given to me by a member of a scooter forum.

Your scoot looks really tidy Jimlad...not a big fan of bars etc myself, but each to their own mate :)

Funky little helmet you've got there too! :D
