Any way of getting this mes sorted out? (neighbouring property)

Perhaps the farmer is waiting for someone to complain to try and help when putting in planning permission for a house?

It was cut back last year. We paid someone to do it, now it's worse than it was. Why should i pay to maintain someone elses land?

It was in use until the old guy that was using it stopped turning up, presumably died. We only found out who owns it recently through a developer who wants to put an access road in to build houses as they tried to buy our house too so that they could use part of our garden.

This i'm guessing is why they have no interest in clearing it up.

Borich Planner on here was very helpful when I had a similar problem, he told me who to contact and what to say to make the right noises. May be worth trying to track him down.

Slightly off-topic, this is what i want if ever there was a Zombie breakout...

On topic, do the owners of that land not have any obligation to maintain it, ie if its affecting your building, I cant imagine its healthy having that weight against your fences/garage etc

Your only legal option is to ask his permission to clear the land yourself.

Pretty much what I was thinking, clear an area at the other side of the fence, put the black covering/bark down to hold the worst of the brambles back and just tidy it up when it's needed. I'd be annoyed that it came to me having to do the work and paying for it though as it's someone else's land but I'm in a similar boat with my neighbours huge conifer, it's a council house though so I'm tempted to get them involved.

Buy a lot of weed killer and chuck it over the plants maybe?

+1

big container of sodium chlorate and a hose attachment. kill the ****ers.

annoying though, as you say, its not really your problem to sort out. cant you say you need to knock the garage down and require access. surely its a 10 minute job for him and his tractor + attachments.
