Any way to connect pc via Sky router to LaptopWifi?

Im needing to transfer quite a large ammount of files between my desktop pc and my wireless laptop,

atm there both using the internet via the sky router
Desktop is Win7 and wired to router
Laptop is Win Vista and Wifi to router,

any suggestions on file transfering? bit of a networking noob here

couldnt explain a little more could you?

i need to transfer the files on the PC over to my laptop that is wireless, and how would the laptop see them?
 
Best way would be to get another network cable to hook the laptop to the router with to maximise speed.

Then google shared folder windows visat/7

In essense it's a case of right clicking on the desired folders and selecting share.
 
i do have a seperate cable in a old spare router box that i can connect, (yellow thing) so ill try that tonight,

i did try to set up a shared folder but seaching for the other computer didnt show anything

i "might" have had a fire wall on both computers though, but it still didnt see any pc at all ill have another go tonight,
