Hi,

Just been on the phone to my car insurance provider (Aviva) and realised that when they ask for years of license they *include* the provisional. Now I've got my full license about four years ago now and cannot think when I got my provisional. Is there any way to find this out?

Thanks.

I've never known an insurer to include the years you've had provisional entitlement, other than if you're applying for cover for stuff like riding a bike on a CBT.

Plus, it's on your paper counterpart if you do need it.

EDIT: Just checked aviva's site and it does actually say that, dunno why like, I only ever used mine for ID purposes the first year I had it, lol.

Photo licenses last 10 years correct? Therefor i think it's a good guess to minus 10 years from 4b (on your license).. Unless you've been driving longer? then it might be 20 etc...

Thanks, found it on paper counter part. I lock that away in a fireproof safe (over the top, maybe!) so didn't want to go searching for the sake of it. Anyway, I did and rang Aviva to confirm... They indeed do include provisional. Saved me a fair wack too. Phew! :)

Thanks all.
