Hi all

Not totally a windows question but this is as close as I can get...

Google have, in their infinite wisdom, forced a 'grid view' on for changing between mail, calendar, etc. It's a terrible design decision as it requires extra clicks for something which before was as simple as clicking the bar at the top.

Is there any way to get the black bar back? Gmail is becoming frustrating with interface changes without options.

Frustrating for me too. I mean it has "+You - Mail - Images" and then everything else is hidden under the menu. How simple would it be to just let us decide what we want on the ribbon.

I think it's a scheme to push for more G+ profiles. Just like they've been pestering people to create G+ profiles on YouTube so you can post comments and stuff.

Yeah, I also hate this. I don't get why Google are always changing their interfaces because they think they know better than us what we want.

It'd be nice, wouldn't it?

I still pine for old compose. I dislike having a small window even though it can be helpful if you need to look at other emails (which is very rare). The 'big window' version of it is better but it was still nicer to have a seperate page.

Perhaps I'm just getting old and being grumpy about change with that one, but I honestly can't see how the 'grid' is better than a bar at the top.

Depressingly a firefox user! Would love that for FF though.

I know, I have that set as the default now, it's much better than the piddly window by default, but still not as good as the original compose.
