Anybody else recieved there university results yet?

i agree with this man, not because of the fact it was a spelling error, because it was grammatical, its the wrong word! getting a degree in anything and still not knowing which their, there or they're to use? bit of a joke really

Gotta add a correction there matey :P Im off to do Maths & Physics at warwick in sept, im sure it wont be a doss. And im sure the biologists, engineers and chemists, amongst others, agree that their degree isnt a doss either.

You're picking faults and saying "too right!" when you have non-capitalised Is, isnt instead of isn't etc.

Anyway - congratulations to all the people that got great grades - I hope you got what you wanted and you are able to do what you want with them!

I am currently saving to do a masters within the year - hopefully I can save up enough so I don't fall out of the student-esque thought pattern!

I need some help guys, I'm a first year student and I've only had the result of 1 out of my 5 modules so far, but I don't quite understand what it means.

Does it mean I've passed, and I don't need to redo the coursework which I got 30 on?

Erm, I guess they've passed you and used your other grades to compensate your 30% assignment.

40% is needed to pass, so I guess they turned a blind eye to the 30% grade and averaged it all.

BTW...

Just got my 2nd year results for my Forensic and Crime scene science degree...

55% - although two modules I completely bodged, 40% and 42%... Due to poor organisation and motivation, not ability.

Luckily my 2nd year is weighted 30%, and my 3rd is weighted 70%.

Need 63% average in my 3rd year for a 2.1 overall, or 77% average for a 1st.

Should easily get a 2.1 with a bit of effort.

30 hours a week faffing around on campus doesn't count as hard work in my book. Degrees are a doss.

All generalisations are wrong. See, I can do that too...

Got my first year result back, 2:1 in engineering which I'm incredibly happy with, I thought it'd be a 2:2 for sure.

2:1 in Accounting and Finance from York. Doing an internship at Barclays atm so hopefully they'll offer me a place on their grad scheme.

Fingers crossed! :D

Kinda overdue for this thread but got my results back too. Luckily, nothing went totally wrong with my dissertation and I am comfortably in the 2:1 zone. Its however funny that I aimed for 2:1+ and now I somehow feel indifferent and didnt feel like partying(as I planned to do initially).

Got my second year results. Averaging a 2:1 at the moment in music. got a first in Film and multimedia composition which i was very chiffed about as that is what i wanted to do. My tutor is the composer of GTR,GTR 2,BMW M3 Challenge e.t.c. :D

2.1 in Physics at Imperial.

1 more year to go but can't see myself getting a first now. Oh well, i'm still happy.

He may well be indeed, and I'm not knocking that. I just find it odd that you can actually get to degree level without the ability to spell having sunk in. You'd think that even just through repetition, people would be able to manage to place an apostrophe correctly, or suss out the differences between they're there and their. All the people on these boards can manage to learn things far more difficult than that, but when it comes to spelling they can't be arsed.

I totally agree.
My daughter has severe dyslexia but you'll never see a spelling mistake in her college work because she makes the effort.
When I was a lad no matter what exam you were taking you would get marked down for bad spelling.

Got my results the other week. Got a 1st (Hons) for a MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial. Really pleased, the hard work has paid off.
