ok im a bit of a born again veggie and had many years eating meat until 6 hours at a meat factory, but now (a year and a half later) I find the adverts on tv pretty repulsive with the raw cuts of meat and even showing the cows pre death. I can imagine many years in the future how we will be looked on as savages ?
im realy sorry for the years I ate meat ,anrbody the same ?

No. And if anything we should be showing people the reality of where their meat comes from. It doesn't magically appear on shelves in plastic wrap. It was once an animal. It was slaughtered. Here's what it looks like on the bone and raw. Get people thinking more about where their meat comes from. Looking at better standards for animal welfare and husbandry.

Nope the animals are bred for food, so if we didn't eat meat the animals wouldn't have been bred.

How about the poor vegetables feelings, nice and cozy in the soil and someone comes and rips you out to throw in a pan!!

EXACTLY! PLANTS ARE LIVING THINGS TOO!

To be honest it's not nice the way they're killed and I personally would be willing to pay a little extra if they were guaranteed the most humane death possible but the love for meat is great and it's almost vital in us humans.

Nope, I've raised chickens for the oven and dispatched them myself, then prepared them. I think people need a clearer understanding of where food comes from and should treat meat with more respect.

If I found anything repulsive about meat adverts it is how poorly the meat has been butchered and prepared.

They're killed as humanely as it's going to get. A bolt through the head. The bolt going into their head arrives faster than the central nervous system can send the signal that "ow, that hurt". Everything after that is the death rattle.

Now "religious" killing, like in Islam and Judaism, where they just hang the animal upside down, cut it's throat and let it bleed out... that's a different story and takes the animal much longer to die.

I have no issue with it, I love meat, we're all part of the food chain and these animals are bred specifically for us to consume anyway. Just because we have a higher state of awareness and intelligence it makes certain people feel that way.. you don't see animals in jungle complaining about their food, they will gladly eat you given the chance!

Personally I think the whole vegetarian vegan thing is stupid, humans need to consume meat, this is why we have canine teeth, to tear apart meat etc.

And savages?! seriously, you do realise the cavemen did it many many many moons ago? and pretty much since the beginning of time.

I feel sorry for people who don't eat meat, whilst I'm sitting there enjoying a lovely bit of steak, nom nom.

The way we do it is an insignificance compared to the likes of Asia and the way they kill dogs etc to eat, smashing them and beating them until they are dead.

This is the way it's done over here, I don't think you can get anymore humane way of doing it.

Now that's what should be banned religion or not, animals are bread to be food but they shouldn't suffer in the process, I refuse to buy any halal or kosher products, I have no problem paying extra to know the animal killed as quickly and painlessly as possible.
