Anybody game on their HDTVs?

DVI and HDMI are the same thing aren't they, except DVI doesn't carry sound? I use DVI-VGA myself.

Nah my TV isn't a toshiba. I know it's native res is 1360x768, but I don't get why it doesn't support 1280x720 in VGA, I've tried forcing it, my tv just comes up blank. It's hella weird.

Play a bit on my projector. 1280x720 so most games run silky smooth. Driving games are fun, FPS bit fiddly cos of the mouse on the sofa. Mostly play pc on my 19" LCD though, xbox on the projector always

1366x768 native! there isnt a reason for you to run 720p via vga. running native would look a lot better.

I run the PC in sig on my 32" HDTV. Would never go back to a standard monitor as it looks stunning. I run 1360x768 over VGA. This res doesnt stress the GPU too much so am able to crank up the AA and AF of all my games.

Grid, COD4, Bioshock, UT3 all looks stunning.

My 37" Bravia comes out the same - 1366x768 native, but a 1360x768 desktop (perfectly 1:1 mapped mind) - I think Forceware just prefers a value divisible by 16.

And yeah, gaming, surfing and traditional tv/movies is great lying in bed :D

I play a few games, mainly racers like Grid on a 42" 1080P HDTV. They do look stunning. My 42" set only supports 1080P (1920x1080) via HDMI, vga only goes to 1360x768 :(. Not a problem, i just prefer the look over vga cable as apposed to DVi/HDMI.

Yeah, big screens ***, doesn't matter about the res only being 1360x768, still looks brilliant.

My tv doesn't support 1:1 pixel mapping I think...there's like 3 pixels either side that are blank on the screen I think. You can barely tell unless you look at it though.

Tried gaming on my 32" LCD at 1360*768, wasn't impressed by the low res. Then again it was actually on my PC desk, so I was only sat 2 foot from it :D It was also way too bright for viewing at that distance. At 5-6 foot it would have looked much nicer, but then it would have looked no bigger than a 20" screen at regular 2ft viewing distance, only lower res, so I don't really see the point.

isnt there a problem displaying 1366x768 over hdmi?

I connected a customers new 32" Sammy series 4 HDTV to my PC the other day, it auto found it and set to 1366x768 as my 2nd monitor.

I did not need change any settings and thats the 1st time a HD Ready TV has been near it this build.

That was DVI to HDMI.

hey guys... post some tittles u play on HDTVs

Have tried cod4 which was awesome, you aim down the scope and the heads are just huge :)

NFS as well its ok...

anything else worth hooking up?

Got a cheapy 32" viewsonic HDTV for £400 - best thing I ever bought. Its my primary monitor so everything gets played/watched on it.

Brilliant peice of kit for the money.

flat mate has a 42in LG HD in the front room. GRID through that is great fun :)...as said its brilliant with the 360 pad too. Pro Street is nice too.

Gonna set it up in there again soon, now the machine is formatted and up and going again, get some 42in Supreme Commander and Devil May Cry 4 on the go :D

Has anyone got any advice for me, in relation to sorting out my colour problem with my HDTV? The colours all just look really brash and sharp, but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it.

Hmm, have you tried controlling it from the Graphics cards settings instead of the TV.

Have you also got it "Treated as a HDTV" in menu if Nvidia ?
