How big (from STEAM) is Just Cause 2 to download btw? Was pretty impressed by the graphics on the xbox 360, so want to try it on the PC :-)

Too true, instead of educating and welcoming a new poster everyone is far too busy being a grade A ****.

^^This^^

JaguarLover probably just wants a game that looks as good as news console games such as Gears of war 3 for instance. I presume he's a console gamer and has switched to pc gaming.

Just ignore most replies, They are taking the **** out of you. For your information 1080p or High def as you call it has been available on the pc for years and years now, long before Xbox360, PS3 or mainstream HD tellies came out. The average resolution on pc is 1920x1200p nowadays.

To answer your question, For good graphics that will look fantastic on your monitor, Games such as Crysis/Crysis warhead/Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, Need4speed Shift 2, F1 2011, DiRT 2/3 to name a few

Is it just me or are these forums getting less forgiving the older I get?

Not less forgiving, just filling up with first class "A" holes.

And to the OP, Metro 2033, all the Crysis games, Batman AA, Portal 2, AvP, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Battlefield 3, RAGE *awesome game BTW* there are lots more, too many to list ^^

Nearly anything, hi-def is just a buzzword.

Now my toolish elitist tendancies are out the way:

As for games that will look great on your monitor, Just Cause 2, Crysis, Dirt series to start.

The average resolution on pc is 1920x1200p nowadays.

According to the Steam hardware survey, less than 8% of gamers have a primary display resolution of 1920x1200, which makes it less common than 1280x1024 and 1440x900.

Obviously 'average' could mean different things but the median resolution looks to be 1680x1050 by my reckoning.
