anybody still play command & conquer generals ??

C&C Generals was a solid RTS that was widely marked down for being a little in bad taste (it was released shortly after September 11th) but would be called tame in todays world (read: Taliban being renamed Opposition in MOH - pathetic really). I have been a very long serving C&C fan and enjoyed most of the EA produced games, Red Alert 2, Red Alert 3, Tiberium Wars and of course Generals. C&C 4 was an epic failure essentially hit badly by lay offs during development and an over ambitious gameplay change. I haven't bought it and don't plan too.

There was word of a new C&C game in the works developed by Visceral Games (Dead Space) although EA later rejected this I dont think a CEO of a games company would make such a claim without it being talked about in detail.

Personally I can't see a C&C RTS coming anytime soon. C&C 4 was a critical and financial failure something EA would not want to build on anytime soon. An action game based on the universe being more likely. An action game called Tiberium was in development and announced but was later shelved, its possible that Visceral Games could be using this material for a C&C action game.

Great game, love the ZH add on even more.

I found a mod that used the generals engine to 'bring back' the original C & C. Impressive Idea, didnt quite work in practise.

Heh yeah alpha aurora's were so totally a free kill of any building in the game... sure you would loose ur planes if they had somethin able to shoot bullets at them after dropped their bombs, but if they had just killed half ur army or all ur production buildings that didn't really matter that they had to buy a new plane... i personally liked the air general for the stealth choppers or the nuke general for just a massive badass tank army :D

what a game! absolutley loved it back in the day as with so many in the c&c series. would love to see a follow-up up, but i just can't see it happening after what they did with the last one. it's just such a shame.
