Anybody used one of these before.........

youll have too look at the power output of the psu you would be using. it would be intresting if you could get your pc and 360 to run off the same psu.....

I doubt it as it uses the large PSU motherboard connector. This is ideal for me as my 360 PSU has a high pitch whine and I have a spare 430W PSU lying around. Huzzah!

it looks very much like the motherboard wire. whats the minimum power rating required?

this is quoted off thier site,

"Please note that the original Xbox 360 Power Supply provides 203 watts, and 12v DC current at 16.5 amps, and 5v DC at 1 Amp. For the PSU energyzer to work, your PC power supply must provide this much SUSTAINED power at a minimum. Many PC power supplies are rated for PEAK power instead of sustained power, so you must check the label of your power supply to see if it provides enough sustained power"

I'm thinking of getting one os these bad boys, http://www.modthebox.com/review352_2.shtml Fanless 300watt PSU

Am i alone in thinking if the PSU is so noisey you can hear it, that i would be sending that sucker straight back to MS? or the place i bought it from

Apparently MS just send out PSU's willy nilly anyway.

i really need 1. i tried call em up and say mine broke but they said my consoles out of warranty. im thinking that maybe if i did have an in warranty console they would send it out for free. was wondering if anyone who had a console in warranty could try maybe? call em up and say yours broke, see what options they give you. if they send one out, forward it to me ;)

Apparently if you call them up asking where you can buy one because you like to keep your box in a couple of locations (Bedroom and living room) they will send you one out. There are a couple of people on here that done that IIRC.

But i would defo be making a stink if it is the power supply making so much noise, especially since you can't buy a replacement.

There 29.99 for a 360 psu on the auction site.

Mine is extremely annoying, really annoying whine!

When my 360's power supply blew up **ME swapped it for me.

Anyway, had 3 PSU's for it in total, not had any noises from it as of yet.

What's this 'whine' is it just when you turn it on or does it persist until it's back off?
