Right, first propper day of collage today and the first unit we are doing is Borland Delphi.

So i'd like to be able to finish work etc at home however im find it VERY difficult to get hold of it.

I ideally want version 7 (NOT 2007) or one that works in EXACTLY the same way (i.e. it wont have any subtible differences regarding syntax of PASCAL source code etc)

Any help would be great

You doing Computing A-Level by chance? I found Pascal to be a fairly steady language to learn, so you should find it progressively satisfying. As for the Delphi program, I know I have a version on disk, but I'll have to check if it is v7.

BND (aka BTEC) National Diploma actually! but probably shares a lot of topics with that A-Level. Very much enjoying it already, nice language to start with :) I'm a little bit used to things like C++ (not that i know it, just dabbled in it) so my mind is like wanting to over complicate things, but still - enjoying it. Hope i can say that in a few weeks time!

apparently the plan is start with PASCAL, once we got that under our belts we (i assumable) move on to making windows form applications with the visual side of delphi.

OK, I have Delphi Pro 7. But it's 575MB big. I might be able to find an FTP site I can upload to for your downloading pleasure, but it won't be until a couple of days I'm afraid.
