hmm that was a big pic - ive seen badges attached with pins though this one is a bit strange, il ask my m8... dam british armed forces...

Im in the OTC, you need to make a whole in the beret material at the front, where on the inside theres an extra strip of leather, to make a kind of pouch like thing, if you don't get what im on about ill post pics later.

What exactly is your problem?
The op has asked for some help, as he obviously doesn't want to mess the beret up, and surely that is the right thing to do.
And judging from what willd58 posted, the attachment of the badge doesn't seem to be obvious (at least not to someone with no experience of them, i.e. me).

Needle & thread, for the use of which you'll need a woman or a poof. Preferably a woman, else you might end up with pink stitching...oh hang on, might end up with that if you use a woman. Best learn to sew...

Cut a tiny slit in the front of the beret and push the clip thing on the back of the badge through. The hole should align with a piece of leather on the inside of the beret, if there is one. Once through, squeeze the badge and clip together to ensure that it stays in place and shine with Brasso!
